Accommodations for UC Skills Learners
UC Skills is committed to creating learning experiences that are accessible and inclusive. We want every learner to have an equitable opportunity to participate in and benefit from their UC Skills course or program.
UC Skills learners can request accommodations for online or in-person courses, programs, assessments, course materials, and other learning activities.
How Do I Request an Accommodation?
If you need an accommodation for a UC Skills course or program, start by completing the UC Accommodate form.
You may request an accommodation before your course begins or at any point during your learning experience. Some accommodations may require advance notice or additional time to coordinate, based on timelines established by Accessibility Resources. We encourage you to submit your request as early as possible so that there is adequate time to review your needs and make appropriate arrangements.
What Accessibility Support and Accommodations Are Available?
Accessibility needs can vary depending on the learner, course, and learning environment. Accommodations or accessibility support may relate to:
Online and digital learning, including access to course materials, videos, documents, learning platforms, and other digital content.
In-person learning, including physical access to classrooms, training spaces, or other instructional environments.
Assessments and testing, such as additional time or an accessible testing environment.
Course materials, including alternative formats.
Communication access, including captioning or interpreting services.
Facilitate access to your assistive technology to support your participation and engagement.
Other barriers that may affect your ability to participate in a UC Skills offering.
What Happens After You Submit the Accommodate form?
Your request will be reviewed, and you will be contacted if additional information is needed.
Your request will be connected with the appropriate UC resources, which may include Accessibility Resources or other university partners, depending on your needs and the UC Skills offering.
UC Skills, Accessibility Resources, and/or the program or instructor will work with you as appropriate to coordinate approved accommodations or other accessibility support.
Because UC Skills includes a wide variety of non-credit courses, programs, delivery formats, and learners, the process may look different depending on your situation.
Already Have UC Accommodations?
If you already receive accommodations through the University of Cincinnati, please include that information when you submit the Accommodate form.
